Organic Certification Agencies

Argencert, Argentina's leading certification agency was created in 1992. In 1997, Argencert became the first Argentine agency accredited by IFOAM.

Certified Organic Associations of British Columbia (COABC). The organic production operation policies and farm management standards for organic products in British Columbia, Canada.

California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF). CCOF's purpose is to promote and support organic agriculture in California and elsewhere.

International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM). The federation's main function is coordinating the network of the organic movement around the world. IFOAM is a democratic, grassroot oriented federation.

Oregon Tilth is a non-profit research and education organization certifying organic farmers, processors, retailers and handlers throughout Oregon, the United States, and internationally.

USDA National Organic Program. The official United States Department of Agriculture National Organic Program website.

WSDA Organic Food Program certifies an ever-increasing number of organic growers in Washington State and beyond.

Organic Farming Organizations & Information

The Ecological Farming Association, formerly the Committee for Sustainable Agriculture, is a nonprofit educational organization that promotes ecologically sound agriculture. Their special events bring people together from all over the world to share ideas and experiences in producing healthful food from a healthy earth.

Organic Farming Research Foundation (OFRF) sponsors research related to organic farming practices, disseminates research results to organic farmers and to growers interested in adopting organic production systems, and educates the public and decision-makers about organic farming issues.

Organic Trade Association (OTA) is a national association representing the organic industry in Canada and the United States. Members include growers, shippers, processors, certifiers, farmer associations, brokers, consultants, distributors and retailers.

Sustainable Agriculture

Community Alliance with Family Farmers (CAFF). CAFF political and educational campaigns are building a movement of rural and urban people who foster family-scale agriculture that cares for the land, sustains local economies, and promotes social justice.

Appropriate Technology Transfer for Rural Areas (ATTRA) Provides a wide variety of information on Sustainable Agriculture, Organics, and issues facing rural communities and small farms. Lot of links to relevant government sites.
